Heart & soul for ministry
We established the Society of Mary and Martha at Sheldon to support people in ministry at times of stress, crisis, burnout or breakdown. Here is something about our founding story and ethos.
Please ask for what you need and we'll do our very best to help. We offer good space in a crisis and good space for your regular retreats (and nobody needs to know which it is).
Sheldon offers people in ministry specialist resources on private retreats and also a 20% discount on all programme events.
1:1 time can be retreat accompaniment, a listening ear, a first or last port of call or somewhere in-between. We can help with reducing anxiety, lifting depression and recovering from grief or trauma. We understand something of the nature of ministry - its joys and its risks. We honour the need for privacy and confidentiality. Each visit is planned individually. As a guide we cannot normally offer more than 1 session per 2 nights stayed.
(Please note that we don't have specialist skills in the areas of marriage counselling, addictions or offending behaviour.)
