Overview of the Reception/office all-rounder role

- A part time salaried role, probably 2 days per week 8.30am - 5pm, £12 - £13.50/hour.

How the role looks day to day
Expect each day at Sheldon to be different. Our primary focus is to ensure guests are looked after during their stay, whether that is welcoming them or being the first port of call sorting out any practical issues that arise. "The interruptions are the job".
You will develop responsibility for a set of routine tasks and small projects depending on the skillset that you bring to the role.
You are well-organised with tracking tasks and priorities and have a methodical approach to analysing and resolving problems. You are able to work independently or collaborate as needed.
Your desk will be in Sheldon's reception.

We run a Covid-aware operation to protect the health of team and guests alike.
The preferred timings of the working day are 8.30am to 5pm with a one hour (unpaid) break for lunch. Prepared to consider alternatives for a strong candidate. Other colleagues are able to be flexible as to which days of the week the new joiner has as their regular days, then swaps by mutual agreement. This role does not provide opportunity for hybrid working or flexible hours.
Skills required
Entry level requirements:
You need to be able to evidence practical working experience across a good range of software, and the ability to learn quickly.
- Fluent with day to day use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good written and verbal communications skills (telephone, email, in person, written)
Nice to have
A strong candidate will offer some additional skills, such as
- Use of website content management system (we use SelectCMS and Wordpress) perhaps with basic understanding of html
- Adobe software for some design tasks for print and social media (we use Adobe Express, InDesign, Photoshop and Lightroom)
- Basic bookkeeping literacy for some finance-related tasks (we use an EPOS till, Xero Accounting with Dext and Excel)

- There is no Occupational Requirement for candidates to be Christians. We hope to appoint someone with a genuine sympathy for our core purpose and a working knowledge of church structures would be an asset.
